About us

Founded in 1956, our House gathers 130 winegrowing families, who are tending to a unique and exceptional 315 hectare vineyard.

Located in the Arce valley, on the southern side of the Champagne region, France, our wines express all that the terroir of « Côte des Bar » has to offer: pinot noir, chardonnay, pinot blanc and meunier.

Freshness and delicacy describe our different champagnes at best. Our constant watchwords are authenticity and quality. Champagnes are elaborated from the vineyard to the glass on our own estate.

About A. Bartel Champagne

Mystery surrounds the background of Andreas Bartel. One thing is certain, he took participation in a turning point for the history of Aube, the southern part of Champagne. During his stay there, he shared valuable advices with a collective of winegrowers of the Arce Valley. With his visionary approach, he inspired them to add value to their work by starting champagnization and distribution of their harvest under their own brand.

The heirs of the winegrowers wished that their bubbles would be savored throughout the world in a spirit of sharing, as they were pictured. Champagne A. Bartel was born in-between this desire for modernity and attachment to tradition.
